Moving website to 2nd Lunarpages server
« on: July 17, 2015, 12:56:18 AM »
I have 2 LunarPages accounts that I paid for. Each is on a different server of course. I want to point one of my existing domains (that's currently hosted on one server) to the OTHER server. I've already created my addon domain within the LunarPages control panel on this other server, and created a new "site" within Dreamweaver and uploaded my duplicate webpage files to the other LunarPages server. Before I change the DNS settings with my domain registrar isn't there one OTHER step that I need to do? Do I need to set up a http access file or something? I host a few domains and webpages on the other server. How does it know which folder (within the public_html folder) to look in for this particular domain when someone types in my website address?

If you properly set up the add-on domain, the system should know how to find the right directory. All you should need to do at this time is "point" the domain's registration over to the new nameserver at LP (if it's different from what was before). Note that it will take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours for the DNS update to make it out to everywhere in the world, including your local ISP.
