cgi-email

Thanks to this forum I've actually got cgi-email forms working.  :P

The bad news is that I simply can't get required fields to work.  :(

I've changed the template and HTML to [required-email], also tried [required_email], also tried with hidden inputs of "required" and "missing_fields_redirect"... No joy! Click <send> and it comes up with a "page not found" error. One combination came up with a cgi-email "no template variables" error.

The manual is less than helpful! Any suggestions?

Cheers

Post the link to the form page and also post the cgi script.

I'm using the cgiemail provided by Lunarpages.

My template is:

To: mail@sapis.net
cc: [required-email]
Subject: Business Enquiry

Name: [required-person]
Email: [required-email]
Location: [location]
Type: [btype]
Comments: [comments]

The form is at:

http://www.biz.sapis.net/contact.html

or (as my subdomain seems to have stopped working...)

http://www.sapis.net/biz/contact.html

The problem is if you submit with one of the required fields blank, there just a page not found error. Not sure what I need to do to trap it...

Cheers

Here, this link may help you.  You may have to make a custom error template.  Try it and see if it works ...
