Transparent gif not being transparent
« on: August 26, 2003, 09:50:49 AM »
I'm trying to use a spacer gif.  It's just a copy of a file I've used on other sites before.  No such luck.  I'm ftping it in binary mode.  I've also tried making a new one.  Still shows gray.

Any suggestions?

Actually - I just found a weird little thing - it only shows if the width is equal to 1.  If it's set to 2, it's transparent again.  Very weird.

That is wierd.

Could you show us a link? It could be a bug in your web browser, which one are you using?

I've noticed on my site that gifs don't upload right in binary mode, try ASCII mode, that should work. :)

I've since removed the page, when I attempt it again I'll throw a link up.  It's not a browser issue though (I use IE, Opera and Firebird).

I'll try ASCII mode too I guess, thanx for the suggestion.
