Are you able to fire off a cron job? I know you can in cPanel; I would assume that LPCP can too.
find ~ -name "my.cnf" -print 2>/dev/null
should do the job, provided you have a my.cnf file on your site, and it's not in some system directory. Don't forget to delete the cron job after it has run once.
I don't know if you're going to be allowed to set up a my.cnf file, as the database server is shared in most cases. If it seems to have no effect (or even before trying it), you might want to ask support.
