First off: This is an unofficial survey, and thus the results are only for curiousities sake, however I will pass on the findings to the rest of the moderating staff, and some of the site admins for them to consider.

If lunarpages was to make more cgi-script programs available, what would you be looking for?

This isn't a place to recommend product "X", but to recommend conceptual programs. I have included example answers to the questions:

1) One liner description of what kind of program you would like to see made available:
eg: Guestbook, to track visitors

2) Are you able to develop anything like that at all?
eg: well, I'm not really good, but with a bit of help I could get soemthing started

3) More detail on specific features and how it would work
eg: be able to leave comments, an additional option to be able to go back alter and edit comments you left by logging back in again in case u said something you didn't want too.

4) Would you consider this as somthing you would be willing to pay for? If so how much?
eg: no more than $10

5) Do you think alot of people would have an interest in it?
eg: I think alot of non business sites would probably find a use for it!

6) Anything else you want to say? :-)

1) mailform

2) I tried failed, then used twebmans site and still had problems.

3) Erm, send information a user types into the form to my e-mail address, then directs them to a Thank you page.

4) If it was included in the price to use this webhoster then I would be happy, but I wouldn't pay just for the script itself.

5) Yes, as theres loads of threads floating round about problems with mailforms on this forum.

(Now your going to tell me there already is one avaliable :P )

Davison, email me.  I'll help you get it going.  it's been tested and retested, and definitely works.
Just go to the site and contact me through the form or an email link.

I'd like to see a different stats program then Webalizer and Analog available. Something that translates the information into more readable english :P
I would mention a program, but you said not to.

Also, I think some people might be interested in a outgoing click tracking program. Like goto.php?id=1 redirects somewhere and counts the click, then generates a graphical report. Just my opinion.

Oh, and you should offer some PHP scripts, like a form mail script would be much simpler in PHP. :P

1) poll maker/password saver
2) last server wrote it for us
3) poller would save comments, password would save names and such
4) enough searching in the net would lead to free discovery, in other words, I wouldn't pay.
5) everyone could benefit if they can't write perl
6) last night was really fun!

I have a script check program I wrote on my website which I have always found very useful when trouble shooting script problems.

Is that software accessible for others to use? (eg download and install on our site?). It looks quite interesting, and possibly very useful especially in a Shell-less eviroment!

It's a tiny script I wrote, only about 50 lines.

I can e-mail it to you if you want it.
