For years I have been a subscriber to your servers, thank you. I am starting a Facebook account and have been told that it is risky. I have used one of my email addresses for my site here, on LP, as the facebook address for correspondence. So far I have the settings at family and friends only. Some of my forum members have warned about the trustworthiness of facebook. I have gotten request on the site for my email password and my computer password. I don'y trust this an inch so I stopped. I believe it is up to me to be stupid enough to give this info out on the net.

What are your experiences and how do I handle this. I would like to do this but I do not need to do this. I am certainly not giving out passwords. The fact that they asked for them at all has me placing this question.
Photographer Since 49 Years Ago. Happy Camper at: http://www.glenellenphotography.com/fellowphotographers/index.php, for the last 4 1/2 years. Thanks LP!

facebook is as safe as you make it, i have known peoples facebook accounts to get hacked but the majority of the time it's by people that know then, and know the answer to there secret question, or have got into their emails first.

the e-mails you get appearing to be from facebook are random, you would get them if even if you didn't have a facebook account - it's similar to the emails i receive from banks and paypal saying i must reply with my username and password or they'll close my account.

my advise would be, keep wary about it - and you'll be fine.
