Any critics for photography site?
« on: June 10, 2003, 08:53:48 AM »
www.harmonyphotography.com

Let me know what you think.  Remember that the photographer and artist (Harmony) came up with the artistic design of the site (color scheme and all).

But still, i'm sure it could use some suggestions, improvements.

The login is so a customer can see his/her photos.  You can log in using

Username: spencer
password: harmony

Eventually you'll be able to order photos after logging in. (enlargements, etc.)

There's an admin login in on the bottom left (it remains green but the mouse pointer turns to a mouse, its protected) but the admin can upload and remove photos so they customize the photos on the web page to look how they want.

Currently, only works in Opera and IE.

And some pages are blank, still  working on them.

www.harmonyphotography.com (or if that doesn't work, i.e. my university sometimes blocks it with their "porn" filter, trust me its clean)

pretty nice...checked the source to make sure that the username and pass wasn't available for the world of curious right-clickers to see...it wasn't :)

but considering you gave it out, it didn't matter much anyway...right?

anyway, it's cool...and i like the layout and the 'artistic' design there.

good job.

Thanks.

well, the username and pass isn't for a real customer.  It is just to give an idea of how a real customer would use the site, after they have pictures taken.

Keep the comments comin'

lol...kinda figured that...good to have the option to look at what it'd look like afterwards too...good call there...perhaps when you've got the whole thing running good and well, you could put that acct. name and pass up on the site, so that visitors (potential customers) could get a feel for the way it's all ran...

...something of a tutorial i guess...  :?:

Your photos are clean, in focus and the color balance is pretty good.
I would put more photos in and of differents things besides the same family. Over all the site is effective.
Good Job

I quite like the design of the site. Sizes are great (on 1024x768 res). Works well with no errors (in netscape 7.1).

I would suggest a different colour scheme. I think the green and pink are a bit much for my eyes (although being a programmer you can't always trust my creative suggestions)

:)

Well done!

Matt.

just had a quick look at the main page (using IE5 mac) and some of the photos and Contact us | help | login spill over into the white panel to the right (which doesn't happen in Netscape) other than that looks good.
