I am attempting to deploy a Rails application on the skylark server.
Everything works to the point that dispatch.fcgi tries to run, which when accessing the site from a browser causes the .htaccess file to display "Application error
Rails application failed to start properly".
When running ./dispatch.fcgi from the shell the complete HTTP response for the index page is returned.
When running ruby -d dispatch.fcgi from the shell a long list of exceptions (most of which are looking for gems that don't exist in /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/) is displayed, followed by the HTTP response.
This problem persists in a test app made completely from the shell as well in the app to be deployed.
The ruby path in dispatch.fcgi is #!/usr/local/bin/ruby
The application in question is located at /home/<username>/rails_site
/home/<username>/public_html/rails is symlinked to /home/<username>/rails_site/public
I'd like to know if there's anything that needs to be done on your side to fix this, or if you can offer any support with fixing this issue.
