php installation

My question : to make the php 5 work you just press yhe installing button in the cpanel and when it says php5 successfully installed means thats it, the server will see any php coding you make and respond to them? or should be other installations to be done?

Yes, that is pretty much it as long as the pages have the appropriate file extensions (.php, .phtml, .php5, etc.).
