quick VPS/domain question
« on: July 27, 2008, 11:34:12 AM »
Hi all,
When setting up hosting for a domain on a VPS, you then have to register that domain correct?  In other words, you would go through the normal process of setting up a new domain on the VPS, then through Plesk (for example) click on this domain and register it.  Does this sound right?

Thanks for your time

Carlos

I would suggest doing it the other way around.  Register your domain name first, and then set it up on your hosting account. :)

Hi Carlos,

My opinion that it does not matter what happens first, domain registration or its addition to the panel. But you need the both things to be done as well as the domain pointed to the nameservers on the server where the domain was created to get all working properly.
Kind Regards,
