This could turn into a pedophile magnet real quick.  I raised two daughters and I would be concerned here.  The moderation alone could drive you crazy trying to keep out perverts; then there are the squabbles between girls.  If you don't know how to deal with the problems that are very likely to occur, you could end up with more than you can handle.

Like they say, "it sounds good on paper," but when it hits the real world, who knows what will happen.

I have thought quite a bit about the perv issue--I too have two girls. The site is completely anonymous, so you can't post anything with any identifying information. I guess pervs could come and read the posts and they could pretend that they are teens and posting something, but I screen everything before i publish it. It is not an ideal system in terms of my time, but so far, there have been only about 2 posts in 300, that I have not posted. thanks for the feedback. I guess I will know more as traffic increases

It's a cool concept and you're prolly right that the anonymity takes a lot of the ped threat away.  Fill that right column with advertisers and aff links, and start promoting it more on the social networks.  Check out addit.com for a richer sharing tool.  Get a widget going so others can drop your content on their sites, blog, myspace page, etc.  I tested your email sneezer and you should convert it to HTML and dress it up for your audience.  That's your best promotional tool you've got going right now and it's in text and quite plain.  Make the html email as provocative as your concept and you'll get better buzz going.

what is an e-mail sneezer?

In viral marketing, a sneezer is someone who loves your product and tells all her friends.  She sneezes and the virus gets passed...one out of ten of the people she passes the "virus" to catches it, and starts sneezing to others.  Your best customers are also your best salespeople, and viral marketing takes advantage of that fact.  Give those customers good tools to share (sneeze) your service with others.

Seth Godin literally wrote the book on viral marketing.  Subscribe to his blog to learn more about it.

Social networks are a prime place for viral marketing efforts.  And let me correct my earlier post, the site you should visit is AddThis.com.  They have a cool widget that allows people to share your website on just about any social network.  I think it was here on Lunar Forums where I learned about that tool.  What you've got going now is good (Digg, Delicious, Stumble), and AddThis might be better, might not.  The Facebook promo with iTunes should work well too.

So someone who loves and uses your site and wants to share it with the world can use that Addthis tool or your existing links, and to share it with someone specific, they'll probably use your email tool.  The email that gets sent is in plain text, and doesn't really do your site justice.  My guess is a teen girl won't be impressed by a text email.  If it were formatted in HTML and carried the look/feel of your site, the recipients will be more likely to click, visit and use your site too.

Hope that helps,
Jerry

there is nothing on the site the feds would care about, unless they find confessions about a crush interesting. The site is up, never been down
