XWiki on Resin
« on: October 21, 2007, 02:04:19 AM »
Hello everybody

I would like to use xwiki but it wont install on resin.
there are some lines that need to be added to resin.conf to make it work:

<system-property javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory=
<system-property javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory=

here is the xwiki installation pages where we talk about this addition:

please see the comments down on the page, especially the one from Ben Walding.

Lunarpages support replied this

Unfortunately the resin.conf cannot be modified on our shared servers. You would need a VPS or Dedicated server plan to have this level of control.

You may be able to get this to work through the use of your web.xml file.

Because this is a coding issue it would be best if you looked into the forums and asked your question there to find a work around. We have several admins that respond to forum threads so they might know more options. Hope this helps.

is anybody using xwiki on a shared hosting plan with lunarpages ?

Thank you in advance for your  :help:

I have attempted to contact you regarding running this on your server, unfortunately we are unable to upgrade the version of resin we are using on the shared server as any changes will cause issues for possibly all customers on the server, you would need to upgrade to a vps or dedicated option as on these servers you can have custom configurations. We do offer a php based wiki available throuh Cpanel > fantastico which can be a possible option for you.

Thank you
