ImageMagick on VPS?
« on: September 07, 2007, 05:07:49 AM »
Is this something I have to install myself or does it come as part of my VPS.

I'm using plesk and I can't seem to access usr/local/bin via the normal file manager but I can access it via the Virtuozzo file manager. The folder is empty.

Is there a module/plugin I can install or do i have to do command lnie stuff (sorry for being a noob but I od the GUI generation!)

also how do I know if it's working?

thanks

Hi,

ImageMagick is not installed by default on VPS, but you can easily add it using yum. To do so, ssh as root into the server and install yum first. Please see the following URL for yum setup instructions:

http://www.lunarforums.com/lunarpages_vps_hosting/installing_software_best_practice_question-t42587.0.html

Then retrieve and setup ImageMagick:

Code: [Select]
yum install ImageMagick
Please advise if you have any further questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
