Affiliate - Payment via Paypal
« on: June 22, 2007, 01:33:32 AM »
This is just a thought. I have an affiliate program with another company as well and they have the option to transfer money to your Paypal account. I find it very convenient. Maybe it is something Lunar Pages can consider in future. :hiya:

Actually, we do offer this payment option!

We do set a threshold of $500 on this payment method, however, so most people opt for the payment via US Check. But if you'd like this sort of payment, just PM me with your affiliate username and your paypal email address and I'll set it up for ya. Likewise, you can always email affiliate@lunarpages.com for these sorts of questions. I answer those, and more often than not, we can work these things out.

I would personally prefer having a Paypal payment option from Lunarpages. Living in Asia can be a headache when you encash a cheque from the U.S. So Paypal is the solution to all bank charges and waiting and trouble.

I learned it from Google Adsense checque.

Hi lpfollower,

If you'd like to be paid via PayPal, just shoot me an email at affiliate@lunarpages.com and I can set you up that way. You must earn $500 or more before we can issue your payment, but many affiliates prefer this option to US Check.

Just let me know,

Tiara

Is there any reason why the payment threshold is so high? Most other programs send me paypal as soon as I have one verified sale. If I get a US check and cash it I will keep about 20 from the $65 after exchange rates and fees are deducted.

Well, there are more than likely many factors that play into it, but one would probably be the costs to send the payment over.  It is cheaper to send it with more money less often.  Both ways your getting your money, so the cheaper we can make it on our end, the better deal you can get on your end.  It is a little sacrifice, but better in the long run for both parties.  :thumb:

well I would venture a guess that cost must be 99% of the reason. There is a little drawback because if you don't hit the threshold every month there is a cash flow opportunity cost involved for the affiliate. Also I don't understand why you offer significantly higher commissions via comission junction + 30% of paid commissions to CJ and try to save ~$2 per paypal transaction.

I've just sent an e-mail to the affiliate@lunar  :notme:

It would be great if I can have payments through paypal instead of checks  Checks could be lost in the post and also fees are extremely high on the stupid banks of my country  :whip:

Hi Tiara,

I have a sale three months ago. I wonder when I would reach $500 earnings. If there is a way that LP can send Paypal payment to me, I would appreciate it. Feel free to charge the Paypal transaction cost from my commission instead. Thanks in advance.

why not just have it as an option in payment settings so you wouldn't have to have to deal with so many people?
