Keep Getting Error when checking out
« on: April 21, 2007, 01:28:13 PM »
OK guys, I'm new to php, so bare with me. I am trying to get a new site up. I have a  personal SSL cert using www and a dedicated IP, with osCommerce cart. The problem I'm having is after the account info has been filled out and I click continue...the page just changes with the blank form showing instead of a conformation page. It is not saving the info that is put in.Then when I fill out the e-mail and password to check out, I get this: Error: No match for E-Mail Address and/or Password. I have made several changes in the configure.php files, but no luck. Please help...I'm bout to run out of flippin hair to pull out!!! Thanks.

I'd love to... oh wait, you meant bear with you, didn't you? Never mind!  :roflmao:

Check that your SSL Certificate is an EXACT match for the domain name and IP address you're using. If not, you'll get the symptoms you're seeing. You're invoking it with https://, not http://? If your certificate is for "mydomain.com", it won't work with "https://www.mydomain.com" and vice-versa.

Hey MrPhil...yep I meant BEAR!!LOL
My SSL certificate is for www.mydomain.com and that is what I use, so guess that is not the problem. However, the www domain does not show in my osCommerce admin file manager, only the http:// one. Of course that may not matter. But it does show up in cPanel file manager and my FTP.

One of the configure.php files includes/configure.php, the permission is set at 444...read only. But if I change it to 644, I get an error across the top of the page. But even if I leave it with 644 and the error showing, the account info still will not save what is put in the fields. Thanks for your reply.

In the includes/configure.php file, do you define both HTTP_SERVER (as http://www.mydomain.com and HTTPS_SERVER (as https://www.mydomain.com)? There are also some other HTTP_* vs. HTTPS_* settings you may need to set in there.

As for the permissions bit, I vaguely recall some files having to be 444 to run without error. Of course, you need to change them to 644 in order to edit them (or upload a new copy), but then you have to go into cPanel > File Manager and change them back to 444.

Yes, I have tried changing those several different ways, but no luck. I do not have any payment system installed yet, could that be the problem? Thanks.

I doubt the lack of payment system is the problem.

Have you confirmed that your changes to includes/configure.php "took"? If that file has to be permissions 444 to run, you have to first change it to 644 in order to edit it in File Manager, or upload a new version. Then you have to change the permissions back to 444 for it to run properly.

If you make any use of SSL (https:), you must define HTTPS_SERVER as I described earlier.

MrPhil, This is the way I have it right now, but I have tried it several other ways. Yes, I change the permissions back and forth when I'm editing the configure.php pages..

includes/configure.php

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.c-ann-m-designs.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
  define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.c-ann-m-designs.com'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
  define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?
  define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'http://www.c-ann-m-designs.com');
  define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'https://www.c-ann-m-designs.com');
  define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');
  define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');

admin/includes/configure.php

 define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.c-ann-m-designs.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
  define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', '/');
  define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', '/');
  define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'true'); //

Thanks a bunch,
Charlotte

Hmm. If your SSL certificate is for exactly www.c-ann-m-designs.com (that capitalization, too), then I'd have to say that your osC setup looks OK. I think you'll have to work with LP support to confirm that your SSL certificate is correctly set up -- did you buy it through LP or from someone else? Did LP report any problems while installing it for you? If it lists an IP address, is it your original (shared) IP address or the dedicated one, and which does your URL map to? Can you make a little test page https://www.c-ann-m-designs.com/mytest.html and try to bring it up from the browser (completely bypassing osC)? That might give you a hint as to whether the problem is with SSL (it doesn't work) or osC (it does work). That's all I can think of at the moment. Good luck!

It does work when putting that URL into the browser. https://www.c-ann-m-designs.com/mytest.html

I bought the SSL cert thru LP and it is a dedicated IP. They reported no problems during installation. However, ever since they installed it, I cannot get to the site with my computer unless I go thru megaproxy. I deleted cookies, temp files, history and did the DNS flush, but when I put my URL in it takes me to lunarpages.com lol. But my hubby and son can get to it without going thru megaproxy.

The place I bought the template from, said I must have a payment gateway installed before the create an account would work, so am working on getting that now.....I don't think that is the problem, but wilo try anyway. Thanks.
