images not displaying when using SSL
« on: March 10, 2007, 10:06:01 PM »
OK, so I got an SSL Certificate installed.  For some reason, none of my images are showing, including the seal.  I see them just fine if I view it without using HTTPS://.

What am I missing here?

Is the directory with the images inside or outside of the area covered by the SSL certificate? How are you referring to the images (src= what)? Do you get an error message from SSL, or just the browser showing the broken image icon?

I am guessing your hotlink protection doesn't cover https. If that's not the case, please post a url to the page with the issue.

ack!  duh

Foiled by my own attempt to keep image bandwidth thieves away.

Which, interestingly enough, I did bust somebody attempting that.  This person happened to post on another forum I was on at the time about why he couldn't get his signature image to work.  Turns out he was trying to hotlink to one of my banners.

Hey, that's pretty cool you caught someone red-handed. I can see it now... "The Internet's Dumbest Hotlinkers"
