Hmmm, this is interesting, but when I did a tracert on some of LP's other servers:

Quote
Tracing route to valina.lunarpages.com [209.200.229.125]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     9 ms     1 ms    <1 ms  192.168.0.1
  2    17 ms     7 ms     7 ms  10.98.96.1
  3   109 ms    17 ms    17 ms  gig0-2.oahuhikoko-ubr1.hawaii.rr.com [24.25.224.150]
  4    49 ms    27 ms    17 ms  gig3-0.oahuhikaim-gsr1.hawaii.rr.com [24.25.225.158]
  5    17 ms    17 ms    17 ms  srp3-0.oahuhikili-gsr2.hawaii.rr.com [24.25.225.82]
  6    11 ms    27 ms    36 ms  cpe-24-25-226-245.hawaii.rr.com [24.25.226.245]

  7   188 ms    78 ms   178 ms  so-0-1-2.lsanca1-rtr1.hawaii.rr.com [24.25.228.186]
  8   166 ms    67 ms   186 ms  te-3-4.car2.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.71.36.105]

  9   127 ms    72 ms   164 ms  ae-21-52.car1.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.68.102.44]
 10   141 ms    73 ms   178 ms  ge1-1.cr01.lax01.mzima.net [64.156.173.126]
 11    95 ms    89 ms   144 ms  xe1-0.cr01.lax02.mzima.net [64.235.224.182]
 12    81 ms   176 ms    82 ms  ge2-lunarpages.cust.lax02.mzima.net [72.37.172.26]
 13   110 ms    78 ms   180 ms  valina.lunarpages.com [209.200.229.125]

Trace complete.

From line 7 it goes to LosAngeles1.Level3.net and never goes through att.net. I did tracerts on some other servernames, and it's the same as my valina tracert.

So, why would zane be going a different route if they are all servers at LP's site (or is zane at LV (Las Vegas) and these others at the LA site)?

If this is the case, what are a few other LV servers so we can do a tracert to see if those get stuck at att.net, as well.

Hey Leigh,
yes, Zane is at our Las Vegas data center. Some other servers you can try are:
endor.lunarservers.com
fyodor.lunarservers.com

I ran a trace to zane and got the following:

I tried doing another tracert to zane.lunarpages.com and it's now saying:

Quote
Unable to resolve target system name zane.lunarpages.com.

When I tried "fyodor.lunarservers.com" I got the same message as with zane. (*edited* I realized that I had originally entered "fyodor.lunarpages.com", and with the "fyodor.lunarservers.com", I got a successful tracert)

I noticed that for the servernames you gave me, it's "lunarservers.com" and not "lunarpages.com".

So I then tried "zane.lunarservers.com" and got at least the data for the tracert, but still the "unreachable" error occurs.

Okay, I guess since I was able to connect successfully to both endor and fyodor, and you were able, as well, then it must be zane is the problem and not the att.net hub, eh?  :?

FWIW- I can access epicins.com and villatic.org (from the other thread) just fine...

Hmmm, but then again, bryantv was able to reach the domains on zane, so I guess this is one for the  :abduct:

Could zane have been blackballed or something from the att.net server?

Hey leigh,
Actually, it is a problem with att or where every the trace stops for some. Some are able to connect to Zane while others are not able to (because the routing gets stuck somewhere and it seems some ISPs such as att.net are the issue).

Yes, I do now see that, as I went back and read many of the posts that weren't originally there (since you merged them with the other thread, I can see now that the other thread reported others able to connect  :o:)

But, it must be that zane is being blocked/blackballed or something from att.net, and not just due to connection problems in general, otherwise the other servers (endor and fyodor) wouldn't be able to connect, as well, right (since they go through att.net for us, too)? :?

So, anybody still working on this issue or gone for the day and try it tomorrow with traceroute again ?
Like I posted previously, can't you just move our account to another server ?

Well, I'm not a network guru but from my understanding. The way routers and all that good stuff works is that it checks an IP range and sends the packets forward, to the next router and so on till it reaches it's destination.

Since it seems like zane is in a different "class" I think it's called than the other two servers, a router could be screwing up somewhere.

Our network admins have been sent all the traceroute information that we have received.  I have not received any further word from them at this time regarding the issue or where it stands currently.

The forums are not the proper location to deal with single account issues, please reply to your ticket regarding your specific account.

How long will it take for the server to get resolved? Are there any time span that you can provide us? This isn't what I expect from lunarpages. This isn't good at all.

So, anybody still working on this issue or gone for the day and try it tomorrow with traceroute again ?
