There, just for JamesG....actual text content on the homepage. I had to find some old info that had been up on a previous incarnation. I think that it works well (of course its always subject to change on a whim).  :spoton:

I posted on your Blog my kudos  :D

Oh, I did have a few comments that I should post here though:

1) You might want to encode your contact email addy, or create a form method for contacting you, so as to not get bot email harvested, thus subject you to get flooded with spam (lol, I learned that lesson a few years ago :P)

2) On each client's page, you have their domain names at the top but the link is basically just a bookmark to the same page the visitor is already at. When clicking that, I thought it would take me to the client's site :)

Just a suggestion, but you may want to link them to the actual client's site, so that someone who came to your site in the interest of contracting a webdesigner, can see your work more in depth.

I know if I were looking for a webdesigner, I'd be wanting to see the entire site of their past clients ... to see if I'd be happy with what they've created in the past and their various themes/styles/functionality/capabilities  :thumb: (you can't get all that info from just a screenshot)

Yeah, something I have to change in wordpress, the way it links to the "same page", I'm actually going to have it link to a more in depth breakdown of what was done, and include a link to the clients site there.

Ok, well now I put up the javascript email code and created a contact form on the contact page. That'll keep them spambots from sending me a deluge of cialis ads.(or at least keep it to a minimum)

 bad spambot :whip:

EDIT: And leighsww you will be happy to know I changed the links to go to the clients site for now, at least until I finish revamping the project page .

Changed the Header
« Reply #20 on: July 20, 2006, 05:15:48 PM »
Well, I wasn't really feeling the look of the header on http://www.drakestorm.com.

So after some detailed sketching, importing and recreating in photoshop (and good ole Starbucks), I redesigned the header more to my liking.

Now on to other stuff.

Nice header but the page seems to be broken in IE.

hmmm... so it does... the info on the right gets bumped down... and the header has a weird "flutter" to it on rollover in IE that isn't there in FF... I almost never go into IE so didn't notice when I looked earlier...

The above information may or may not reflect current policy, opinions, or views since it was likely made almost 10 years ago.

I'm having some similar issues on a site.  I don't think the code is as clean though I tried to keep it within constraints for xhtml1 trans.

http://new.elizabethpaigedesigns.com on product listings pages there's some rollover motion in IE But not in Firefox.  It only does it once though.

I have an email encoding extension for dw at my site.  http://www.twebman.com/mm/xtend/MailSpamBlocker2.mxp

Fixed it in IE
« Reply #25 on: July 21, 2006, 08:07:57 AM »
Sorry, was trying to add some white space to the left of the main content and forgot to test in IE. Anyways, that is fixed, and I removed the link on the header image which was causing the "flutter" in IE also. (The quirks IE has really tires me.... :argh: ).

Besides you should be using Firefox anyways.... :poke:

Thanks for all the input. :D

PS: TWebMan - Thanks for the headsup on the extension for DW. Although I do use DW on occasion, I decided to just use a quick javascript function to create my email address.
