"The cpu has been maxed out..."

I got this strange automated e-mail from CPANEL saying I was "maxing" out the CPU on my dedicated server.  But the thing is, the site seems to be running fine and this isn't a particularly huge traffic day.  Do I actually need to do anything?  Will the thing catch fire?


IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
  This is cPanel stats runner on!
  While processing the log files for user pointl2, the cpu has been
maxed out for more than a 6 hour period.  The current load/uptime line on the server at the time of
this email is
  13:21:22  up 63 days, 12:10,  0 users,  load average: 22.68, 11.99, 7.00
  You should check the server to see why the load is so high and take
steps to lower the load.

Hello David,

The message you received means that the stats processing stopped on your server. The stats software that cPanel provides pauses the processing when the load becomes too high. If it stops for longer than 6 hours, it generates this email letting you know that stats have not completed as they should have.

To investigate why the load is so high, run the "top" command in the shell and see what services are taking up all the load.
