Hi, Garvey.

I see your signature but not the image you posted.

I was trying to use the following:

Barry Katcher
Photo Restoration and Enhancement
http://www.smiledogproductions.com
contact@smiledogproductions.com
<img src="http://www.smiledogproductions.com/AnimationTest1.gif" width="800" height="88">

The first two lines of text and the second two of my URL and mailbox work fine, but the script pointing to my animated .gif image doesn't work; it just comes through as text.  I've tried this script on other forums and it works on some and not on others.  I'm not sure what type of script it is; BB Code, HTML, etc.

Got any ideas?

probably depends on whether HTML is supported in the sigs or not... try adding the image using bbCode instead of HTML, so it would be...

Code: [Select]

[img]http://www.smiledogproductions.com/AnimationTest1.gif[/img]

instead.... I think... I'm not sure if you can resize the image using bbCode or not though, so you might want to make sure the image is the proper size before adding it... and I'd probably not want an image that wide in a forum with this layout since it could end up stretching the table beyond the right side of the screen for some users... (but that's just me :) )

Hi, GM.  I'll trying using the BB Code instead of the HTML.  And yes, if I can't reduce the size in BB to fit on an 800x600 screen, I either won't use it or re-do it to make the image narrower.  I don't want to be the cause for invoking the dreaded horizontal scroll bar.

Thanks for the reply

no, it would work fine inbarrydkatchers original file size, but just as Marc pointed out having it in the original size (1350 x 150 ) would 'break' every page Barry posted on.
So I resized it down to a managable 600 x 67  :)

Hi, Mark.  Thanks for the reply.

1)  Did you use my HTML or GM's bbcode?

2)  Don't understand when you say "the original size (1350 x 150).."  My original size was 800 x 88, wasn't it?

If you view the file directly in FF, it will tell you the size, and it is as large as GM said. http://www.smiledogproductions.com/AnimationTest1.gif

I think you meant me Barry :?

Your original file http://www.smiledogproductions.com/AnimationTest1.gif is 1350 x 150 . As you cant use html code here on the forum width="800" height="88" wouldnt work.
I resized your original to 600 x 67 and allowed it to be viewed 'live' by entering
