Page cannot be displayed
« on: January 18, 2005, 09:24:12 AM »
Uploaded this simple program using ftp ascii:

#!/usr/bin/perl

print "hello\r\n";

Changed permission to755.  When I try to run from the web I keep getting 'Page cannot be displayed'.  I am on Electra, does LP have to turn Perl on or is this just something simple I am missing?

Thanks!

Without a little more info, can't say for sure... can you give a link to where the page is so we can see what's happening?
The above information may or may not reflect current policy, opinions, or views since it was likely made almost 10 years ago.

Yes, finally figured it out that u need to print "Content-type: text/html\r\n\r\n" first.  I've been using PHP for years & it never occurred to me that Perl would need that.

I appreciate you looking into it for me - thanks.
