Formmail HELP!
« Reply #15 on: December 06, 2004, 09:26:37 AM »
OK I changed the permissions in the file manager to 755.  But I am still getting this error

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@americanmastersgallery.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.americanmastersgallery.com Port 80

Any thoughts?

Colleen,

This is incorrect in your script:

Code: [Select]
$mailprog = $mailprog = '/usr/sbin/sendmail -oi -t';

You have the word "$mailprog =" written twice. Change it to look like this:

Code: [Select]
$mailprog = '/usr/sbin/sendmail -oi -t';

Ok I changed the script, it now looks like this

BEGIN
{
  $DEBUGGING         = 1;
  $emulate_matts_code= 0;
  $secure            = 1;
  $allow_empty_ref   = 1;
  $max_recipients    = 5;
  $mailprog          = '/usr/sbin/sendmail -oi -t';
  $postmaster        = 'info@americanmastersgallery.com';
  @referers          = qw(americanmastersgallery.com localhost);
  @allow_mail_to     = qw(info@americanmastersgallery.com localhost);
  @recipients        = ();
  %recipient_alias   = ('1' => 'contact@mydomain.com');
  @valid_ENV         = qw(REMOTE_HOST REMOTE_ADDR REMOTE_USER HTTP_USER_AGENT);
  $locale            = '';
  $charset           = 'iso-8859-1';
  $date_fmt          = '%A, %B %d, %Y at %H:%M:%S';
  $style             = '/css/nms.css';
  $no_content        = 0;
  $double_spacing    = 1;
  $wrap_text         = 0;
  $wrap_style        = 1;
  $address_style     = 0;
  $send_confirmation_mail = 0;
  $confirmation_text = <<'END_OF_CONFIRMATION';

Okay, here's what I need you to do ...

You need to PM me your username and password so I can go into your cgi-bin and fix the script to work for you. We can go back and forth here and I can keep making you redo things, but the fastest and simpliest for both of us is for me to just fix it for you.

I have done this for many members here in the past, so if you want me to do it for you, I need to access your server.

You can change the password once I'm finished.

You can go through past threads in this section to see where I've done this for people if you are skeptical of trusting me.

Just as a somewhat reassuring voice, leighsww really has done this for other people numerous times and, in my opinion at least, can be trusted.

She's the NMS FormMail goddess and really seems to know what she's doing with this script :) Glad to have her back to help everyone out....  :yey:

Oh BTW, the reason your script wasn't working is because you zapped the critical parts of the script, LOL :)

You only had the "Configuration" part, but you deleted the entire script portion all below it :o

Bad, bad girl!!!!  :whip: :love:

I'm working on it, xeon. I got your PM. I am trying your form on my server but I'm not getting the email back. It may have something to do with your javascript, but let me work on it some more.

I'll get back to you when I figure out what the problem is.

Okay, this is soooo weird, but I'm not even getting back the emailed form. I tried a test of another form and I get the email, but when I use your form, I don't.

You were getting back the emails?

I am going to investigate this further. I'll be back.

Okay, I found what was causing the problem.

Here's what you have to do to your html form:

1) Remove this following line in your form (it's located just above the "Submit" tag):
Code: [Select]
<a href="http://www.xelleration.ca/WMC/!SSL!/WMC/IS_Policies.htm">

2) Add this hidden tag just under the "action" tag:
Code: [Select]
<input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="http://www.xelleration.ca/WMC/!SSL!/WMC/IS_Policies.htm" />

This should now work correctly and you will get the form filler's email addy in the "From" area.
