And, yes, the fact that I was obviously seeing something he had set up to prevent hotlinking is making me suspicious that it's not a setting on my end causing this particular problem.

Try emptying your browser's cache, Pat

If leigh's suggestion doesn't work, would you be able to try copying the link and pasting it into the browser's address bar to see the results then?

Alright, I turnd off hotlink protection for now, when I move it to where my actual site is I have the .htacsess rewrite off so that shouldent happen anymore. The logo for that is in a sub-directory with no .htacsess which would be my guess as to why its happening.

To Mr. Risk: 1. The front page....bottom line messaging is spelled wrong.
                  2. I always like some sort of border or color on the navigation and not just plain white.
                  3. rollover links maybe? I dont know I just have a thing for those...always fun and cool to play around with.  :)

Spelling grr, and I forgot the "." at the end. Border and rollover...gunna have to play with that later on see what I come up with.

Thanks,
Keep em' coming.

Found it  :yey:  :yey:

Turned off block pop ups in Fire Fox and I can see the logo. It even fixed it for "view this page in IE".

Sorry I mentioned it, but glad I figured out what to turn off.

Now if I could just fix it so I could see dai's image. This fix didn't fix that!

Edit:  just read deadly_risk's notes. Now I'm not so sure my fix fixed it or his.....oh well!

Groovy, now if only dai would jump on the bandwagon.

I have "block popups" activated and I could still see his logo, so it's probably due to deadly_risk turning off Hotlinks Protection. Sorry to burst your bubble, Pat

oh well.....feel like I have hijacked deadly_risk's post anyway.

Besides  "my" fix didn't  "fix" my problem with dai's image....so I'm back to square one. Unless dai is using Hotlink Protection too.....hmmmmm

leighsww can I borrow a  :whip:  or two?  :?

Okay, deadly_risk, take a look at these three samples and see if the color scheme and title works for you:

* links removed as they are no longer needed *

If you like one of them, just copy the gif image in the sample, and you can use it for your website.

For the gray versions, you will need to use #cccccc for the gray background behind the title. If you don't use that gray, there may be slight fringing, because I used that gray as the transparency color, so that there is a seamless transition for the gif image. If you want a different gray, then let me know and I'll revise the image to reflect that as the transparency color.

The purple text is #663399

This is strictly a sample, so don't use this html page as a template, because creating links won't work since it's not utilizing frames or CSS. You will want to use CSS to simulate this sample page.

Re the images not showing up issue: (both deadly_risks and Dai's ) I run zone alarm on my other machine. If I have "Remove private header information " ticked  in the cookie control section, I get the same images missing. Unticking "Remove private header information" puts them back on again.

i wondered why my ears were red hot, you've been talking about me!

i use hotlink protection for all my images because someone on LP was stealing my avatar.  i could change it so that my web site stuff isn't protected but this wouldn't help with my images and smillies here.
