Mambo Configuration
« on: April 29, 2004, 06:17:50 AM »
I've got Mambo up and running. Thanks to Danielle for the manual intall instructions. Even though the auto install script was used, it was necessary to troubleshoot a few configuration issues. The manual install instructions were quite necessary to understand what was going on.

NOw, a couple of Mambo configuration questions...

1. What should the Country Local be? The default is 'en_GB', which I assume is for Great Britan. The doc doen't list the valid choices. But, would the us be 'en_US'?

2. Should I turn on 'Search Engine Friendly URL's?' And, do I need to make any mods to the .httaccess file?

You help is appreciated!

1) Not sure, but en_US sounds feasible!

2) If you would like it easier for the search engines to index then yet. You simply just have to make the .htaccess file live. Uncomment some lines etc (just open it up the instructions are inside). But before you enable them make sure your configuration file is writable!! :-) You have no idea how many times I did it.. wonder why it didn't work until I realized my chagnes weren't being saved.
