The guestbook?
« on: April 16, 2004, 10:32:07 AM »
I was just wondering if there is any other guestbook type provided. I don't mean to be picky or whatever, but the one that I have with cpanel is just... ugly, and there are no options or anything so you can't modify it. It's also hard to read and disorganized looking. But I don't want to hassle with the free kind since I already have my own.

Any help?

There are plenty of guestbook applications out there, you just have to read their installation documentation to determine how to do the installation yourself.

Hi Erin,

Yes, there is also the "Advanced GuestBook" in Cpanel in the Cgi Center, the same location as the simple one.  The only caveat is that it takes up a MySQL database, so if you are already using yours, you would either need to purchase another MySQL database or locate it online and manually upload and install it.  Another MySQL database would cost $1.00 per month per database paid in a lump sum for the remainder of your contract term.  You would be able to request an additional database by emailing support@lunarpages.com and including your username and the last 4 digits of your credit card on file with us as well as authorization to charge your card for the database.

Thanks

i don't know if this is too late but... I believe you can also create an extra table in your existing database and use that.  See this thread on how to do it: http://www.lunarforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13941&highlight=creating+createing+extra+database+tables

yes, provided that the guestbook software you use allows you to customize the table names within your existing database so there are no conflicts... 8-)
