Can we move PhpMyAdmin to port 80?
« on: April 15, 2004, 02:45:09 PM »
Hi, I am sitting behind a firewall and I can't access the port 2082. Can we move it to 80 so we don't have to install PhpMyAdmin individually?

thx.

Have you tried to use a Proxy server running on Port 80. If you are using IE, go to Tools | Internet Options | Connections | LAN Settings and use a public proxy server. You can find them through a Google search or use 195.39.134.81 which is one that works for me. This is something that plagues me and the workaround makes it work perfectly. Good luck!

Otherwise another option would be to install your own copy of phpMyAdmin.

To add to that, if you use Firefox, you can do the following to configure a proxy:

1. Go to Tools, then select Options.
2. On the General Menu, Select "Connection Settings..."
3. Click the "Automatic proxy configuration URL" radio button, then enter the url or IP for the proxy.

I hope this helps.
