CRON JOB executing Perl cgi script
« on: April 04, 2003, 08:29:00 PM »
I have a script that totals database entries daily in my site and inserts the date and total into a database table ....

I do this by clicking on a SUBMIT button ... seems like a good action for a CRON JOB!!!

Couple of questions:

1)  the script, stat_dunk.cgi, currently displays a page that prints " XXX dunked DATE! " ... confirming that it executed ...

if I set up a CRON JOB for stat_dunk.cgi , should I delete all PRINTS ?? ... since the script has no executor to "write back to" that it executed.

2) CRON JOB SET at Control Panel

I tried COMMAND LINE ENTRY "/home/myusername/public_html/cgi-bin/stat_dunk.cgi"  and it did not work ....

what should I use on the command line to execute a script?

Thanks before hand!!!
