Where do Drupal updates come from???
« on: April 17, 2019, 11:58:07 AM »
Hi, I haven't received updates for ages for my Drupal script. The core Drupal appears okay, no new ones appear to be in my cpanel, but I haven't recieved any for my modules either.

I am concerned that I may have accidently blocked them when blocking spam IP addresses, so all I really need to know is where updates come from so I can check my IP blocks? <porn spam links removed -- don't do that again or you'll be permanently banned! If you didn't do it, scan your PC for viruses and malware adding spam to posts -- Mod.>

Does Drupal run a cron job to do periodic update checks? Make sure you didn't remove any cron jobs they added. Presumably the update process goes back to Drupal ( to get updates -- try running it manually to see if it works, and if it doesn't, ask the Drupal support forum ( where and how updates come from, and what to avoid blocking or removing. I'm assuming that you're not letting Softaculous (at Lunarpages) do the updating. It's quite possible, too, that Drupal tried adding an update cron job and was unsuccessful -- you may have to do it manually. As for IP addresses, it's not a good idea to blindly block huge ranges of addresses, if that's what you're doing.
