Title: Adobe Photoshop CS Tutorials?
Post by: brobertsleo on August 12, 2005, 02:13:38 PM
Does anyone know where I can find some tutorials for Adobo Photoshop CS so that I can create professional looking banners and things of that such. One of the biggest things that I wish to learn is how to select a part of an image such as a (person) and insert it into another picture without the person that I took of the other pictures still having the background from it's original picture. Any links or information will be very helpful. Thanks in advance!!!   8-)  :D

There are a number of different approaches to take for removing an image from a background. Depends on the image, your time, and your expertise level. Methods you can use include layer masks, the magic wand, the lasso tool, the eraser, the extraction filter, and more - and you might need to use a combination of methods for the best results (again, depends on the image).

The above are just two of the many tutorials you can find on the web. Google photoshop extraction or photoshop lasso tool and you'll find others. Personally, I start with the extraction filter and then use other tools as needed to clean it up.

There is a prior post on this forum that is over a year old but still has links to some great tutorials:

2 of the links are dead, but some of the other links that are still active are just fantastic.  The phong site also has linkpost listing links to other Photoshop tutorials sites.

I would recommend you to BUY "Abobe Classroom In A Book" for Adobe Photohop CS/CS2. It's woth the money!

If you're just intersted in "un-professional" work, mainly for the web, just google "photoshop tutorials" and have the patience to browse through the results...

Yet another great site is www.photoshopsupport.com (http://www.photoshopsupport.com).  They have the best list of tutorials by true design professionals that I've seen so far.

May I suggest two places:
one is Photoshop TV, which is free and is hosted by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals(NAPP):
www.photoshoptv.com

The second is http://www.photoshopkillertips.com/. This is also free and is short and sweet style.

both are video tutorials which is the best part.

There are many online tutorials are available on the web that you can search easily and start designing. As my point of view Creative Mentor (http://www.creativementor.com.au/photoshop-training-course.html) is one of the best place from where you can gain your knowledge through various IT courses training like Adobe Photoshop,Adobe Dreamweaver,Adobe Indesign etc.
